And just like that, we’ve wrapped up another National Square Dance Convention! This year took us to Shreveport, LA, and with more than 2,000 dancers in attendance, we sure had a good time! It’s always more than just dancing — it’s about the friendships and the shared love of this activity that brings us together year after year. Huge congratulations to Ted & Tonia and the entire 74th NSDC team for hosting a great event. I’m especially proud of how our Members stepped up to call, educate, and lead throughout the convention. And thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth — to volunteer, to chat, or just to say hello. It was so good to see so many familiar faces and to make so many new friends too. A special shoutout to Mom, Dad, and Julie for holding down the fort at the booth all week long — couldn’t do it without you! And congratulations to Grand Square Inc. on their 25th anniversary — what an incredible milestone to celebrate together this week! Here are just a few pictures from the week. The 32nd Indiana Square & Round Dance Convention is one for the books! As always, there was no shortage of dancing, calling, laughter, fun, and just a few shenanigans. I was so busy most of the weekend that I didn't take many pictures but these are just a glimpse into the fun we had!

It was an incredible week at the 71st National Square Dance Convention, Evansville, IN with more than 2,000 square dancers! I'm constantly reminded how much I love this activity and more importantly, the people in it.

After a year off, it was so good to be back dancing at the Indiana Square & Round Dance Convention in French Lick!
Friday evening kicked off with the President's Ball called by Tim Tyl. Later that night, I hosted an after party full of shenanigans, skits and fun! Saturday I hosted 2 Hex workshops. The morning session introduced the idea of dancing with 6 couples in a hexagon formation. During the afternoon, we learned more about how to adapt calls to the hexagon. Everyone had a great time learning and practicing something new!
It was amazing to see so much of my square dance family at the 70th National Square Dance Convention in Jackson, MS. It felt so good to be back! |

I had a great weekend calling and dancing at the Michigan State Square Dance Convention in Lansing, MI! Featured callers, Bob Asp, Curt Braffet & Tom Manning did a great job throughout the weekend. I enjoyed seeing many of my friends from Michigan and making new friends too!

Friday night started out with a great dance by featured caller Tom Miller. The theme was "Back to the 50's" and I love seeing so many people dressed in 50's attire! Saturday was full with square and round dancing at all levels, workshops, competition, education sessions, and more!
Finally we ended a packed weekend with the Sunday morning Gospel Finale!
The Indiana Convention is one of my favorite times of the year because I get to see so many good friends in one place!
Join us next year in French Lick for our 30th Convention - November 8, 9 & 10, 2019!

More than 3,100 dancers attended the 67th National Square Dance Convention in Kansas City, MO. I was one of those lucky dancers! The Convention offers a variety of programming for attendees including squares, rounds, lines, contra, education panels, seminars, sewing clinics, and plenty of opportunities for networking with attendees from around the world! We danced from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM Thursday through Saturday and had an absolute blast! I had so much fun seeing old friends and making new ones too! I've posted a short slideshow below.
The highlight of my weekend was on Saturday night when I had the honor of calling with the Ghost Riders Square Dance Band for the first time! These guys are incredible and so much fun to work with. Check out the video below!
